Who or what is really important, I mean really?

'Say your driving down the road, you get a flat tyre. Who do you contact? One of your friends you care for and created a strong bond with - you'd do anything for each other OR a loyal follower on some form of social media - that's probably likely to unfollow you as soon as they become bored of you.

You've had a bad day, a really bad day. Do you sit down and confide in a someone that always has your back, or do you shoot a DM (private message) to someone who regularly comments on your physique pictures.

In the world of instant gratification, likes, follows, social media (making us more disconnected then ever). I feel we are losing what's most important, communication and that communication at one stage in time was on a tribal level, of maybe 20 humans. Now the more we 'blow up' become 'Instagram famous' we lose touch with reality about who or what is important. And that one thing is people, the real, close, and genuine people who care about your actual well being.

I had a business venture go south not too long ago, did someone from my social media reach out and offer support, were people who regularly like my content everyday - some of which said changed their life - help me find my feet. No, and that's fine - that's not what these 'relationships' are about. A life long friend put me up , got me motivated, and away I went.

I can honestly say I haven't always been the most loyal, supportive, understanding friend. But I try every damn day to be. Because I realized a while ago, there is only a handful of people in your life time who will - pick you up from hospital - help you move - buy your product or service (even when they don't need it) - fight your battles with you. Hold on to these people, cherish them.

We live in a different world now, 1000's of 'friends', even more followers, views, likes and the rest. And while I am grateful for everyone of mine. Especially clients, customers and anyone who has invested in me. Always remember though gym is 'not life', your blog/post/video can and should wait for the person in front of you and although you should aim to provide the best information/entertainment/version of you to the world (if that's what you choose to use social media for). Just remember, like a world champion fighter I used to know said 'everyone loves you when you on top, whos around when your not is who matters'

God Speed.
